Insomnia and sleep problems

One in five of us suffer from sleep problems (insomnia).  People who suffer with this miserable condition are likely to experience some of the following symptoms:

  • Difficulty in getting to sleep and lying awake frustrated trying to drop off.
  • Waking frequently in the night and being unable to get back to sleep.
  • Waking very early in the morning, long before they need to get up.
  • Still feeling tired or exhausted on waking.
  • Depression, irritability and tiredness throughout the day.
  • Difficulty concentrating and getting things done.

How do we treat insomnia?

The initial discussion is designed so that we can identify any obvious causes of insomnia.  Our treatment program will be tailored to treat your particular symptoms and will consist of hypnotherapy and re-programming your subconscious mind so that blissful, refreshing sleep becomes a natural habit.  Normally this can be achieved in one or two sessions.

Occasionally, however, the root of the problem lies hidden in the subconscious and we will need to use analytical hypnotherapy to identify the source and remove it.  In this case additional sessions will be required.

Stress

In the UK, we have the longest working hours and shortest holidays of any European country.  Is it any wonder therefore that we are all so stressed?  There seems to be stress at work, stress in the family, and stress in relationships, stress in exams and almost every other area of our lives.

We all need a certain amount of stress in order to function effectively and achieve our goals, but when that stress becomes excessive and unmanageable, it becomes a serious problem and needs to be sorted out.

Stress fogs our minds, so that we can no longer think clearly, or focus properly.  It can result in burn-outs, insomnia, anxiety and a whole host of other physical and emotional symptoms.
